Divorce Cost Disclosure

Depending on your relationship with your ex partner, you will be eligible for either our Joint or Sole Divorce Service.

1. Your Service

Joint Divorce Application

Our standard Joint Divorce Application Service (Service) comprises:

Prepare your Joint Application for Divorce.
Review the draft Application with you and make any necessary changes.
Finalise your Application and meet with you for signing.
File your Application with the court.
Filing the service documents with the court.
Attend on your behalf at the court hearing (if required).
Correspondence to you confirming the outcome of the hearing.
Provide you with a copy of the Divorce Order if made by the court.

The fee for this service is $565. Any discounts apply in addition.

Sole Divorce Application

Our standard Sole Divorce Application Service (Service) comprises:

Prepare your Sole Application for Divorce.
Review the draft Application with you and make any necessary changes.
Finalise your Application and meet with you for signing.
File your Application with the court.
Filing the service documents with the court.
Serving your application on your ex partner and filing these service documents with the Court.
Attend on your behalf at the court hearing (if required).
Correspondence to you confirming the outcome of the hearing.
Provide you with a copy of the Divorce Order if made by the court.

The fee for this service is $995. Any discounts apply in addition.

2. Court Filing Fees

These are third party fees requested by the Court at the time of filing your response application. This Court fee is in addition to our fees. The amount of this fee is set by the Government and the prices shown in this document are valid as at 30 June 2023 but are subject to change if updated by the Government on their website here.

There are two options depending on whether or not you hold a concession card. These options are as at 30 June 2023:

Concession Card Holders: $385
All Other Applicants: $990

3. Important Points to Note on Your Service:

a) You are eligible for our Joint Divorce Service if you have spoken to your partner and they agree to sign your divorce application. Otherwise, our Sole Divorce Service will apply. If your Partner does not sign your application and you paid for a joint application, you will need to pay an additional $440.

b) Additional Services may apply (incurring additional fees) in the following circumstances:

If you cannot locate your ex partner to serve your divorce application, your Service must also include either our Application for Substituted Service or our Dispense with Service.
If you are still living with your ex partner, your Service must also include our Living Under One Roof Service.
If your partner is located overseas, your Service must also include our Overseas Divorce Service.
If you require help with any other legal issue other than your Divorce Application, such as child custody, property settlement, criminal orders, violence orders, wills or estate planning.
If your documents or service require translation.

b) You must have a marriage certificate and be eligible for a Divorce in Australia to receive this service.

c) Any discounts apply only to our professional services listed above. Not to any disbursements listed below.
